Inaugurated in 1986, the edifice features exposed concrete over 34 000 m2 of built area, spread on a site of more than 21 000 m2; today, it is still one of the largest units of SESC - Social Service of Commerce - in São Paulo. The program of the building is divided into two interconnected blocks in which the areas of leisure, food, health, educational and administrative are distributed. Standing out in the cluster, there is a water park, a large theater, a multisport gymnasium and the main hall which is protected by a covering of hollow structure allowing the entry of daylight through large domes. The edifice has undergone various modifications over time – like the changing of the entrance hall flooring and the addition of a “free internet” area (designed by Spadoni and Associates).
